I first “met” Renee Gauthier when she was Victoria Beckham’s assistant - their cute, agreeable relationship was part of the reason Posh’s Coming to America special was so funny. (Like this scene where they tried to bake a pie together.) Now, Renee has left the celebrity assistant life behind her and is working as a comedienne, and in this segment she talks about what it was like getting to meet celebrities like Eva Longoria and Kelly Clarkson when she was a PA. Victoria “Posh” Beckham, who was totally always my favorite Spice Girl, is actually kind of awesome despite sometimes dressing like an alien. In this very endearing clip from her Coming to America special, Posh and her assistant, Renee, try to bake a pie that Posh can bring to a “welcome to the neighborhood” party she got invited to. Renee is hilarious and a great complement to her boss.
I love, love, love Rex Lee’s portrayal of perennially abused “gaysian” assistant Lloyd on Entourage. And I guess I’m not alone, because David Beckham himself spent some time chatting and drinking with Lee at a birthday party for music producer Jermaine Dupri. However, there was one problem: the guy Becks thought was Rex Lee was actually an imposter, so the soccer star actually spent the night talking to some random plebe.
I guess if you happen to even slightly resemble someone who’s even slightly famous, you should consider a career of imitating that person. No offense to Rex Lee, though, but why would you aim no higher than imitating a TV actor who not everybody has heard of? I mean, at least Tina Fey had the good sense to look almost exactly like Sarah Palin.

There are certain times I’m really glad the site was around a couple of years ago, and here’s one reason: Rebecca Loos. If you’re lucky enough not to know who she is, we’ll fill you in. She was the assistant to one Mr. David Beckham, whose wife Posh Spice “Victoria” Beckham is one of STA’s favorite pointless celebrities. Anyhow, allegations of an affair (complete with steamy text messaging) between Rebecca and Becks almost split up the Beckham marriage. Now Rebecca’s showing her true love–for fame–by releasing a pop single. The song, “Your Boyfriend” is about a woman waiting for a guy to get out of his relationship and get with her. But she swears it’s not about the Beckhams. Riiiiight. Because they’re not the only reason she’s famous or anything.
For the record, when Posh is asked about Rebecca in interviews, she usually refuses to discuss the matter, claiming she doesn’t like to focus on the negative.
