Sponsored Post: Happy Admins’ Day from STA and DYMO

Happy Administrative Professionals’ Day! Or, as your boss still calls it, Secretaries’ Day. If your company didn’t get you anything, have no fear. STA is partnering with DYMO to get you a gift of your own. 50 – yeah, fifty, like five with a zero after it – STA readers will win the LabelManager 260P (see photo, this thing is rad) and a $10 gift card to Starbucks. In order to enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post answering the question “What is your daily office lifesaver?” Be creative! STA and DYMO will choose the winners. Responses must be posted by midnight EST on April 26th in order to be entered for a chance to win.

And as if free stuff isn’t awesome enough, DYMO is doing a special code for STA readers who’d like to get a labelmaker from their site. The promo code for 25% off a LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo is STA2010 and it expires on April 30th.

Full disclosure: This is a sponsored post, which means that DYMO is compensating me for running it. Sadly, they are not paying me in labelmakers, just money.

  • My lifesaver is thisiswhyyourefat.com. Deep fried snickers bars drizzled in chocolate, sushi made out of peeps… Food porn can get me through any day!!

  • I go for a half hour run two or three days a week before work, and it has dramatically improved my quality of life. I’m not athletic or fast — a lot of the time, I’m technically not actually running — but I’ve gradually increased my endurance. I find my energy, mental focus and ability to handle stress are all about a thousand times better than before. Plus, I would not have guessed there was room for that much improvement.

I am not a morning person, and at first, it was incredibly hard to get up an hour earlier, but after two weeks, I’d wake up and think: Sleep another hour and still feel sleepy? Or get up now and run, and feel great for the rest of the day?

And then I’d get up and run.

  • Iced coffee, dark chocolate covered almonds, and my co-workers music tastes

  • My current lifesaver is my Filemaker Pro project. When I feel office stress I open it up and work on creating a great database. The best part is that no one else here knows how it works. It’s a lifesaver, because since my boss doesn’t understand it but knows that the data is important. I can use it to ignore any really stupid requests to do things that aren’t part of my job. I just say “I can’t do that right now I have to work on Filemaker.”

    Happy Admins Day everyone!

  • My daily lifesaver, when I am working, is to be able to daydream of a tropical getaway for at least 10 minutes, even if I have to wait until my lunch break to do so.

  • My daily office lifesaver is the first morning coffee with heavy cream and the CTRL V & C on my keyboard. Thanks for the chance!

  • My office lifesaver is my organizer. With so many projects, appointments, and deadlines to keep track of, a tiny calendar just wasn’t cutting it. Although my job revolves around computers, I avoided getting a PDA and use a book instead; there are some things that work so much better with a pen and paper for me. I find it much easier to scribble down my weekly agenda on something tangible!

  • My daily lifesaver is the Fed Ex guy making his daily delivery. What a cutie he is.

  • My daily lifesaver is Joe Web (a cup of great coffee while surfing the net). Thanks for the chance!

  • My office lifesaver is 1Password. Since switching to mac, I’ve found that saving my passwords and form filling info into 1Password has really saved me a ton of time and aggravation. Plus, my fingers get a bit of a breakn from all the typing! I don’t think I could live without it. Coffee and chocolate help too! :)

  • My office lifesaver would have to be pictures of my kids who remind me why I am here and doing what I do. Without them on my desk I couldn’t get through a work day!!

  • My office lifesaver is going to the bathroom and reading facebook on my blackberry.

  • caramel macchiato!!

  • My office lifesaver is pandora radio…depending on my mood I can change the station and rock out, be mellow, dance, lip sync along, etc. I love music and it makes me happy and is my total office lifesaver & stress reliever!

  • my lifesaver is starbucks or a really good book on break.

  • Helena Handbasket

My lifesaver is my new co-worker. I was handling everything for everyone all by myself. Having help makes such a difference. She makes me laugh, validates my feelings on certain subjects and at the end of the day if there is a big project we can do it together and all the pressure isn’t on just me. When they forgot about Administrative Professionals Day AGAIN this year, it wasn’t just me they were forgetting about. It’s nice to have someone to laugh with at how ridiculous the rest of the office is!

  • my lifesavor is last break, eating and drinking and just relaxing until time to go back to work.
