Last week I blogged about Scarlett Johansson playing an assistant in The Spirit. Now, it seems the director, Frank Miller, cast his own assistant in a small role in the film.
Mark Del Gallo, a Baltimore native and a graduate of Towson College who moved to New York to pursue an acting career, landed a gig as Miller’s assistant. Whatever he did on the job must have impressed Miller, because Del Gallo managed to snag a small speaking role in the big-budget film, which was based on a graphic novel by the late Will Eisner. On imdb, Mark is listed as “Mark Delgallo,” and his character’s name is “Seth.” Since I haven’t seen the movie, I have no idea who Seth is or how many lines he gets, but I still have to congratulate Mark Del Gallo for a job well done, and an assistant’s dream come true.
