tina brown’s assistant humor

Tina Brown’s new website is a little bit Huffington Post, a little bit Talking Points Memo, and a whole lot of the former Talk editor’s trademark British wit. The site, which launched last week, features a Q&A with the always-quotable Ms. Brown where she talks about the ideas behind the site. Here’s a snippet I particularly enjoyed:

Are you doing this because you’re jealous of Arianna Huffington?

Not entirely, though I have always followed Arianna’s career with the liveliest interest. She is a very old friend, going back to when she was at Cambridge and I was at Oxford. I love what she has achieved at HuffPo. And her partner Ken Lerer, another old friend, has also been a total mensch about the birthing of our beast.

I heard you make your assistant print out the Internet for you. Is that true?

The Internet is too big to print out. That’s the whole point.

I don’t know if Tina Brown actually is one of those people who make you print out emails for them (believe me, I worked for one, and it’s absurd), but at least she has a sense of humor. More of her wit and wisdom are on The Daily Beast.
