yet another assistant show to premiere

It seems like assistants on TV are a home run for networks thanks to the success of shows like Ugly Betty and ratings successes like Britney Spears’ role as an office assistant on How I Met Your Mother. Next fall, there are already a few assistant-related shows I can think of: 50 Cent’s Apprentice show, Eight Days a Week starring Anna Chlumsky as an assistant, plus the Tyra Banks-produced reality show about looking for a new editorial assistant for Elle magazine. [That is a lot of italics.]

Add another one to the list: the MTV show Baby Dolls. Here’s the official description:

[The show] is a half-hour scripted comedy series set in the pop-culture phenomenon of celebrity worship as told through the eyes of a naïve and jaded personal assistant to a young actress. The faux-documentary series takes the voice of the abused but all-knowing assistant who is in over her head, drowning in the celebrity-making machine, getting stepped on by stiletto-clad feet, but at the end of the day comes out the hero.

  • I sometimes like to think I’m Ugly Betty, except Pretty Chrissy!! I love celebrity gossip. I recently bought a book, Dealing with Divas by Shelley Anderson – A Must read!
The helpful hints are good for everyone, as well as the true stories! Those are always fun. My hubsand actually bought it for me because he thinks I’m a Diva.
So I took it as a compliment and ever since I read this book i’m on a personal assitant kick to find more info!
