springsteen honors former assistant in song

It’s not enough for Bruce Springsteen to make consistently awesome records and get to have the nickname The Boss. Now, in the ultimate display of awesomeness, he has written a new track, “Terry’s Song,” which honors his late assistant, Terry Magovern. Magovern died last year at the age of 67, and Springsteen did his first-ever live performance of “Terry’s Song” at a performance in Houston yesterday on what would have been Terry’s birthday.

How many stars do you think would even say something nice to their PA, let alone write a song in their honor? Bruce, you’re a stand-up guy.

  • I need to find the album with Terry’s Song. I lost my oldest brother at the early age of 39 from menigitis and my hearts aches for him so. When I read the lyrics of this song, I cried, thanks God for giving me him and wished they had not broke the mold for him. Thank you for such a beautiful song. Weird I would find this song by my brother’s number one artist. He has been a fan of yours ever since he realized great music. Once again Thank you You touched my heart and my soul. Pam Quinn (sister of Mike Venner)
